Privacy Policy

At Covala Group, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers' information. This privacy policy applies to our "Site" (http://www.idibenefit.com) owned and operated by Covala Group. This notice describes our Privacy Policy, including the types of information we collect about you, how it is used, and how it may be shared.

If you have an unresolved privacy or data use concern that we have not addressed satisfactorily, please contact our U.S.-based third party dispute resolution provider (free of charge) at https://feedback-form.truste.com/watchdog/request.

As a function of providing you with our services, we obtain nonpublic Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about you, which may include the following: a) information we receive from you or your employer on applications, questionnaires, web portals, or other forms including your name, address, social security number, and income; and b) information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as payment history, parties to transactions and insured status.

We provide access to information about you to outside companies and other third parties in certain limited circumstances, including: a) to facilitate processing transactions for your account; and b) when using another company to provide services for us such as printing and mailing application and policy information, these service providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide these services to us. In certain situations, Covala Group may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. If Covala Group is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Site of any change in ownership or uses of your PII, as well as any choices you may have regarding your PII. In the event you separate from the company through which you became a Covala Group customer, we may provide access to information about you to outside companies and other third parties to facilitate your uninterrupted service delivery and to provide additional insurance or insurance-related services that we believe will benefit you. We do not share, sell, rent or trade PII with third parties for their promotional purposes.

Covala Group will use personal information only to those purposes for which the information was collected as identified in this privacy policy, or for other compatible or related purposes such as the following:

  • To provide customer service support or to respond to your inquiries;
  • To verify eligibility for certain programs or benefits;
  • To obtain benefit pricing from insurance companies;
  • To communicate with you about employee benefit offerings and related services;
  • To authenticate users, and to prevent and detect fraud and misuse of our sites and services;
  • To comply with legal requirements;
  • To measure performance;
  • To discover trends and segments within our audience of service users and site visitors;
  • To perform analytics on the usage of our sites and services, to optimize resources and their management;
  • In other ways, in accordance with your consent;

Updating Personally Identifiable Information

Upon request Covala Group will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your personal information. If your PII changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, amend, remove or deactivate it. We will respond to your request within two business days.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Identity Protection

Covala Group is committed to protecting you from identity theft. To enhance your security, we take the following actions: a) using multiple firewalls and encryption technology, such as secure socket layer (SSL) encryption to protect files containing your PII; b) utilizing user identification and authorization processes to protect all computer systems containing your PII; c) utilizing physical, electronic and procedural security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards, secured files and secured buildings.

If we decide to change our Internet privacy policy, we will post those changes in advance to this privacy statement, the home page, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently.

Tracking Technologies

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to PII.

Choice/Opt-out

The use of information collected through our service shall be limited to the purpose of providing the service by Covala Group to its clients referred to in this document as the Client or Clients.

Your employer may have provided Covala Group with PII for the purposes of facilitating your enrollment in an insurance or related product or service. If you would like to discontinue the servicing of this product and similar product offers in the future, then you may contact us via one of the above methods.

Covala Group collects information under the direction of its Clients and has no direct relationship with the individuals whose PII it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct their query to the Client (the data controller). If requested by our Client to remove PII we will respond within a mutually agreed upon timeframe. If you would no longer like to be contacted by one of our Clients, please contact them directly.

We may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the service agreements with our Clients.

We will retain PII we process on behalf of our Clients for as long as needed to provide services to our Client and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

While you are employed by the company through which you became a Covala Group customer, no information will ever be shared with third party companies for the purpose of marketing. After separation from that employer, you will be given a choice to opt out of sharing information with any third party companies for the purpose of marketing that may occur from that point forward. If you have previously agreed to the sharing of information for marketing purposes and would like to opt out of that decision, then you may contact us via one of the above methods. Residents of California have the right to opt-out of sharing personal information with affiliates and may do so through any of the above methods.

You will be notified when your PII is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.
